Susan Avar is an accomplished educator who has been teaching writing for over twenty years to students in Canada and the US. She specifically focuses on helping high school students master academic essay writing through the Integrated Analysis Method (I.A.M). This writing method helps students in Regular, Honours, AP & IB (SL & HL) English classes overcome the frustrations of subjective English marking by equipping them with university-level writing skills that focus on analysis-based writing. Students leave repetitive and summary-style writing behind, and learn how to ‘extend’ their writing with each essay.
